We know it’s not Thursday, but we can’t help but to highlight a few of our favorite tutorials and creations of the week.
So without further adieu, here are some of favorite Workshop and creations built by our dedicated LBP members.
Featured Workshops
How to make a zipline
Need a zipline transporter for your SackBoy? Gians2007 shows us how it’s done in his step-by-step video on creating a SackBoy hanging zipline.
Animation
A highly creative level and video created by SubGnosis, be sure to check out his two dimensional animation built in LBP. We especially like how much detail he goes into with breaking down the creation process.
LittleBigCounter
Another masterful creation using switches and emitters in LBP, similar to the infamous LittleBigComputer, tuxsbro puts his own spin by building a counter that counts up or down and stops and 0 and 00.
Level / Objects
Top 10 ways to die – Episode 4
As much as we hate to see SackBoy be burned, electrocuted or explode, we can’t help but be humored for ChilledChaoz video collection of Top Ten ways to die.
LittleBigHome
One of the most detailed level to date within LittleBigWorkshop, X-NOBODY-X takes his Street Fighter – Chun-Li costume on an adventure through his LittleBigHome, filled with trapped doors and hidden surprises.
Elemental Temples
We love micro-levels, especially ones that are driven with a story and focus. Stuber presents a set of five micro-levels on four different elements. Battle your way through the first four levels to gain mastery and use it to defeat the Great Temple. Truly awesome!

In the spirit of the holidays, we’d like take this moment to thank the LittleBigPlanet community for their constant support, feedback and participation with the LittleBigWorkshop. General
I am having some problems with this new patch. The game said that my data was corrupted and I had to start from the beginning.
Another problem is that the game keeps on freezing.
Please make a new patch, so you can do something about this problem. I know a lot of people that are having the same problems on their game data.
Please Help!!

Now the "super" good news.
Because of the excitement these levels have brought into our offices, we wanted to show our thanks by providing prizes not to just the top 5 creators but to the 'honorable mentions' as well. So after several discussions, we've decided that all the levels mentioned above, will receive the new Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack! Filled with tons of MGS-themed "Create" materials like objects, decorations, stickers and more, we hope this prize takes your creations to another level.
So to our LBC1 winners and "honorable mentions" - we'll be in touch with you soon, check your e-mail boxes early next week and prize vouchers for the Prize Crown and the Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack will be delivered before Christmas. Now that you are on our radar, we'll be looking to see what other great levels you create....and hopefully spotlight you again in the future.
Again, congratulations to all who won and thank you to all who participated in our first LittleBigChallenge.
(Any recommendations on the next challenge?)

LBP and MGS fans alike are in for a treat! If you checked out the PS Blog today you will see all the details on the new Premium Metal Gear Solid® Level and Costume Packs that are hitting the PS Store on December 23rd.
The Metal Gear Solid Premium Costume Pack will come complete with the Solid Snake outfit we revealed at TGS. But in addition you will see favorites like Meryl Silverburgh, Screaming Mantis & Raiden who will each have LBP costume
Each costume is available at $1.99 each or get all 4 costumes for the price of 3 at $5.99. But it doesn't just stop with costumes, player-creators have the option of getting the....
Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack for $5.99 which fills your Pop-it tool with a ton of MGS-themed “Create” materials, objects and stickers plus a whole lot more.
Things like-
- A 5th Sackboy costume…the Gurlokovich Soldier (see above).
- 72 New Stickers
- 12 New Materials
- 10 New Decorations
- 18 New objects
- New background music track
- 3 new interactive music tracks
- New Metal Gear Solid themed ‘sound object’
- New Plasma Ball ‘danger element’
- New Laser Sight ‘gadget’
- New functioning Searchlight lamp
- 12 new Trophies to unlock
- and best of all.....THE PAINTINATOR and Paint Switch
With the THE PAINTINATOR you’ll be able to splatter anything that comes between you and the end of any level. Shoot paintballs with the R1 button and using the right stick to aim. Paintballs will hit very weak slap. Shoot ‘Brains’ from a safe distances now and progress thru levels much easier. The Paint Switch, so you can attach it to any object and set it to destruct after being splattered with enough paint. Don't believe us? Check out this video-
This new Level Pack is very exciting as these new items will open up the kind of levels Creators can make!
Now if you don’t buy it, no worries, you’ll still be able to enjoy the MGS fun! Non-MGS Level Pack owners can PLAY the MGS Story Levels by joining a “host” who owns the pack and play the levels online together. You won’t be able to keep any objects, but you can experience the new features. MGS Level Pack owners will also be able to CREATE levels with any of these items (including the Paintinator) and SHARE them online for everyone to play.
Again, we’re very excited to present this MGS Level Pack to you as a taste of how LBP can and will continue to evolve over time! More details on the PS Blog. Be certain we will continue to provide more LBP goodness down the road in 2009.
Have a Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year!

The LittleBigWorkshop has been a great tool for the entire community to get together and Play Create and Share. And it's also been an amazing source for us to maintain updates and announcements with our community. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been reading a lot forum posts and noticed certain rooms have become increasingly congested, making it difficult to sustain the amount of traffic and info pouring in.
This has inspired our LittleBigChallenge of this week – Your LittleBigWorkshop Forum. We want the LittleBigWorkshop forum to be YOUR destination for all things LBP, so it only makes sense to have you guys tell us how you’d like the message board to be. We've came up with a new structure to help with the amount of traffic coming in, but we need your help to tell us if this is what you want.
So have fun, and get together to tell us how we should better organize the LittleBigWorkshop forums. We'll be sure to pay attention to your ideas :)
THE POD
- General Announcements - your one stop shop for all news and announcements relating to LBP.
- Off-topic – intended for off-topic discussions
- Wishlists – want Mm to create a new costume, level or object for LBP. Share your ideas here
PLAY
- Story Level Discussion - need help getting past a Story Mode level, this is the place for you
- Collector's Corner - get advice on where to get certain items, objects, costumes, stickers, etc
- LittleBigNetwork - a place for players to meet other players
CREATE
- How-to - Want to learn how to do something, post here and let the community help you out
- Tutorials - Feel like sharing your knowledge to the community, post here or link to you workshop page and help make the Create community a better place
- Community Creation Brainstorm - Talk about what you want you want to see other people make. Want to see more levels designed for kids? Want to recommend some unique concepts for others to build...this is your forum
SHARE
- Level Discussion - talk about the some of your favorite levels
- Promotion Zone - Now that you're done creating your level, tell the world what, why, and how you created your level

We know all eyes are on us, but we’ve been overwhelmed with the sheer amount of submissions our community has created and as much as we’ve tried to select our winners for LBC1, we won't have any announcements today. With so many more amazing levels to play, we are spending every waking moment, judging each of the creations submitted by the community. We're hoping to announce the winners on the News site next week, so stay tuned!
For the time being, check out Mm’s blog for their Creators picks of the week and news on a Designer Sticker Pack available online.
